About Betsy
Oh, dear. I have to write about me?
Okay, nutshell version:
I’m a New Hampshire native and a current DC resident. My obsession with film and television goes further back than my memories begin, and I parlayed that obsession into a degree in Electronic Media from George Washington University, where I studied and practiced the art of filmmaking in the most expensive possible way. I now work for a nonprofit, where I continually interact with filmmakers and networks, and I take great pride in what I do. I’ve surprised myself by discovering that the longer I’m there, the less I’m starstruck by the boldface names and organizations; I’m more inspired by the boundlessly creative young filmmakers who are trying to take their place among them.
I have other interests, of course. I love this city, and all the marvelous opportunities therein. Like any good New Englander, I follow the Red Sox and Patriots to an unhealthy degree. And my galaxy of friends and family is more spectacular than any characters Hollywood has invented, in my humble, unbiased opinion.
In conclusion: I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to be a well-rounded person – emotionally, intellectually, creatively. But not physically.
Addendum: Curious what “b-roll” is? Here’s an explanation. Thanks, Wikipedia!
Okay, I’m prejudiced, but this is a great blog and a hysterical personal description. Good going, Kiddo. Quite proud of you. (Mom)
Ugh! Wiki neglects to add ‘b-roll is a blog by Betsy Walters’!
Thanks for trying
Dear Betsy,
Hope you have a Happy Easter. How are the cherry blossoms. It’s finally sunny here in RI.
Woonsocket was not as affected by the rain as in parts south of us. But, I do live at
WATERVIEW and so we did have quite a few sightseers for the dam in the back yard. It
was amazing to see it in its fury. I felt sorry for the poor ducks and how battered they were
with the rush of the waters. I do check your blog every couple of days. Interesting. But, I have
to admit that I’ve never cried while reading any of the Harry Potter books. When is the last
movie coming out. No great movies around here right now. I go with a cousin almost
every Sunday. Will be going to NH on the 14th to spend some time with your mom while
your dad and you are in Orlando. Hope there are some good ones out there at that time. Are you flying down alone or with one of your room mates? Am sure you’ll have a great time.
Love and prayers, Aunt Alien
I know your folks are looking forward to seeing you in New York.
Love your blog. Great job. I too can almost quote the dialog of the American President. My folks and your Mom’s folks were friends so I feel like I know you. Best wishes
Thank you, Kathleen! It’s nice to meet you! (I’m Andrew Shepherd and I AM THE PRESIDENT!
